Summary:

The Elites, after being beaten back, regroup at their base and count their losses. The only remaining three elites are forced to choose a new leader the only logical way, a democratic election. The humans are able to get in contact with their command and get a request through for reinforcements and some supplies for only the basic essentials like Morphine and Cake Mix.
