FAQ

What do you use to film and edit your videos?
We use a Canopus ADVC 110 capture device to record footage from the Xbox 360 onto the computer. We edit the raw video using Adobe Premiere and the voices with Adobe Audition. The final video without the specific titles is then imported into Final Cut and using the Livetype application, the titles are added and final video rendered. The video is exported using Quicktime (for .mov and .mp4) and VisualHub (for .wmv) and uploaded onto the various sites that host our video. Detailed Blog about this.

How do you crouch without jumping/moving/falling over/etc. ?
Note: The gun-down glitch can only be done in an offline custom game (that means no Xbox Live games). Press and hold Left Bumper, Right Bumper, A, Down on the Directional Pad, and in on the Left Thumbstick. The buttons must be pressed and held simultaneously.

Can I be a voice or actor?
Treeskunk Productions is a fairly small operation and is almost entirely filmed with only one person (Bzerker). The most people we ever have in a single filming session (if you call it that) is four and all scenes with gun-lowerings are done offline. That said, we are glad that you are interested in helping, but we more than likely will not need your help filming. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be future opportunities, so it can’t hurt to ask (without continuous pestering of course). Most of our gamertags can be easily found on our individual profile pages in the Bios section of the website.

What about the website?
The Treeskunk website is currently maintained by shiruken but the original design was by Chris Slagle (Haphazardly), Colton Allen (Nitrous/Subrandom) and Colin Sullender (shiruken). The remake of the site was done by shiruken and only to make it all W3C compliant and more functional. The site is built on WordPress and coded (currently) freehand in Coda. We keep track of our video downloads with a php click-counter called ccount.

Why are you so bad at regularly posting/releasing stuff?
A lot of our troubles in the past few months have been caused by technical problems (aka computer viruses that trash computers) beyond our control. It really sucks when you lose all all the vocal presets in Adobe Audition for the chatacters and all the recorded scenes from ever. However, the main reason for our irregularity is that we are all still active members of society and either are full-time students or workers. That said, Treeskunk Productions is not a priority, merely something we do to keep the world a happier place (at least so we think)..

Why is Paul Shelley so mean?
More than likely, it’s because he doesn’t like you. But don’t take it personally. He hates everyone.
