The Party was founded 86 years ago, it has governed the country for 58 years, and its current membership totals more than 70 million. The CPC never tolerates corruption or any other negative phenomena. This is determined by its nature and purpose. Resolutely punishing and effectively preventing corruption bears on the popular support for the Party and on its very survival, and is therefore a major political task the Party must attend to at all times.
